Terlingua Book Fair

We have had several inquiries about the Annual Book Fair at the school in Terlingua. This is the information that we have received. While most of us will not be in the Terlingua area this year, we can still help out by visiting the link. The Book Fair is November 2-November 15. Thank you all.

Great Peppers' Meeting 2017

9/12/2017

Good day to everyone.  The 38th Great Peppers' Meeting is now in the books.  It was a great time in Virginia. The host Pods and their members, CASINOVA, Mason-Dixon, ChiliMAC and Capitol did and wonderful job this year. From everything I have heard, everyone that attended enjoyed the hospitality and friendship of our members in the east.   From beginning to end the week was well received.   On Friday, the GPs were shown a beta version of new interactive cook-off registration program designed and presented by Michael Mayorga.  There are some suggestions that were made and there are some changes that will be made and then next it will move to the IT committee for some tweaking.  The voting delegates got to have one on ones with the four candidates, the President and the ED.  We spent the afternoon debating and discussing  the proposed rule changes for this year.  The GPs did a wonderful job of working through and discussing the proposals and in the end three were approved to be included in the book. The new rule book will be available online October 1.   On Saturday, the meeting went smoothly and the voting delegates took care of business.  The informational poster and the 2017 were revealed as you will see below.  A very special thank you to Mike Watkins from Mason-Dixon Pod for once again  loaning us your unique talent and time.
We now begin the countdown to the 51st Terlingua International Chili Championship. Over the next several weeks details and schedules will begin to appear so that you can know what we have scheduled for your enjoyment.  Check the CASI social media pages, blogs and Pod pages for details.
For those that are on the chase...........GOOD LUCK and be safe.  The Countdown has begun.

a few days away...

Hello from Virginia.  We are just a few days away from the 38th Meeting of the Great Peppers.  This year we gather in Tysons Corner, Virginia.  Friday and Saturday this week are going to be full of seminars, forums, meetings and of course gatherings of friends, new and old.  Registration will begin on Thursday afternoon. Friday is a full day with Board of Directors meeting that morning and concluding with the cook-off that evening.  Saturday is going to be a full day as well. As the delegates travel from all over country and head to Virginia, we wish them safe travels.  As we gather this weekend our thoughts and prayers are with our chili family along the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast that have been devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Sadly, each day we learn of another one of our chili family that has been drastically effected in the aftermath of this storm.  Please know we are thinking of you during this time.
