52nd Annual Terlingua CASI International Chili Championship

The 52nd Annual CASI Terlingua International Chili Cookoff is just days away.  This Saturday cooks from all across the country will compete for the title of Champion. Our organization is always extremely proud to crown a new winner each year.  With our Championship cookoff, we always strive to create an atmosphere of excitement and energy with our announcements. We have been asked over a period of several days what is the procedure for claiming your trophy should you place at the Championship.  For our Final Table finishers and places 2nd-10th, your number will be called three times throughout the announcements process.  If there is no claimant upon first calling, we will continue calling other places. Periodically during announcements, we will call those unclaimed numbers again.  When we call first place chili, we will announce the number and there will be a five minute window to claim your number.  If at the end of the five minute window the number remains unclaimed, first place will be listed as unclaimed and the Reserve Champion will be announced as the 52nd Annual Terlingua International Champion. Other than an emergency situation, all winners must present their own ticket to claim their place in tradition and history.
