Old 320 Membership and Privileges
Amended and Revised 2018
By purchasing an "Old 320" share, you are essentially donating money to allow CASI to purchase and maintain our land for a permanent site for our Chili Championship.
You, as a shareholder, are granted the privilege of selecting an 8x8 foot square space in the "arena" area of the Rancho CASI de los Chisos as a permanent cooksite.
The arena has been surveyed and platted by a registered land surveyor, and each site is permanently recorded by the Alcalde and the CASI treasurer.
The site selected by the shareholder will grant usage by that member to cook on that site at TICC for the life of the shareholder. "Old 320" shareholders can have as their quests other qualified cooks on their site. Should that shareholder not be qualified to cook at TICC for any chili year, the shareholder has the right to assign usage of that site to any qualified cook for that TICC. Should an "Old 320" shareholder choose not to use the site or to assign the use of the site to another qualified cook, the Alcalde can recommend that the site be used by another qualified cook.
Should the shareholder so choose, the have the right to "will" the usage of their cooksite, upon the expiration of the shareholder, to someone in their immediate family or to another CASI cook in good standing. The cooksite may not be "willed" to a Pod or other group. This transfer, without cost, may only happen one time.
Should the second holder of the share expire, it may transfer one additional time, within the immediate family only, for a transfer fee of $100.
A shareholder may at any time return their site to CASI for reassignment by the Alcalde and maintain all privileges of Old 320 membership, with the exception of the use of the assigned cooking site.
The CASI Board of Directors will be responsible for the operations and management of the cookoff and of the Ranch CASI de los Chisos. There will be an annual meeting of the Old 320 membership and an Alcalde (Spanish for Mayor) will be elected for a two year term. The Alcalde will represent the wishes of the membership to the Board of Directors, but will not be a member of the board or have any voting privileges therein.
