Request/Inquiry for Licensing
To submit an inquiry for use or licensing of the CASI logos and trademarks, please click on the button at the bottom of the page and the completed request will be submitted to the CASI Branding and Licensing Committee.
Brief Introduction
The CASI Branding and Licensing Committee works with the CASI Governance Committee and the CASI Board of Directors to protect and promote the use of CASI – Chili Appreciation Society International’s name, trademarks and logos and to ensure that the public can properly identify and associate the logos with officially licensed products bearing the organization’s trademarks and/or name.
A licensing agreement is required for resell products featuring CASI branding. Request must be completed through the CASI Branding and Licensing Committee; with final approval by the CASI Board of Directors.
Permission to Use
The CASI Board of Directors permits use of protected logos and marks with appropriate prior approval by CASI’s Executive Director and in accordance with the CASI policy guidelines. Logos and marks may not be used in any way that would constitute endorsement, approval, or liability of any CASI sanctioned event, product, activity, service, or contract.
Policy for Use
At no time will the registered trademark be used without the knowledge and approval of the Board of Directors. At no time, will the registered trademark be altered. All uses of the trademarked CASI logos may only be authorized by vote of the Board of Directors; with exception of a current and active Great Pepper, for use in promotional giveaways for a Pod Cookoff or CASI event.
Should unapproved use or unauthorized modification happen, the issue will immediately be brought to the CASI President's and/or CASI Executive Director's attention. The President/Executive Director may ask the Governance Committee to review the issue and report back to the Board.
To date, the CASI Board has approved use of the trademarked logo on letterheads and emails, approved branding on clothing, product advertisements, posters and awards, merchandise to be sold at the TICC store, Krazy Flats store or the CASI online store, for use by recognized TICC sponsors and on products branded for marketing under current licensing agreements.
To protect the trademarked CASI logo, a CASI corporate asset, there will be no altering of the registered trademark in any way; meaning no characters, numbers, digits, marks may be superimposed or applied to the top or behind the trademark. Adding banners, letters, numbers or words around the trademark may be approved; but designs must be submitted for review and approval.
Any unapproved use of the registered trademark will be considered misuse and possible legal actions could occur.
Royalties
Each request for use and/or licensing will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure that the trademarks are implemented in a consistent manner. Most items are generally subject to royalty fees and subject to an approved licensing agreement; if the product/merchandise is for resale to the general public. Each request for use will be reviewed for royalty or non-royalty designation.
Any royalty income is used to support the mission of CASI, as a 501 (c) (3) charity organization.
